Privacy policy
Lallier Antirouille collects very little personal information, and only to get back to you and serve you. This page explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it and which rights you can exercise.
Last updated: August 26, 2026
Who is responsible for your information
The personal information collected through this website is under the responsibility of Lallier Antirouille, which operates two rust protection shops, in Laval and in Montreal East.
Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, the person with the highest authority within the company acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. You can reach them:
- by phone, at 450 662-2701 (Laval) or 514 645-9994 (Montreal East);
- by mail, at 1615 Saint-Martin Blvd. E, Laval, Quebec H7G 4R4;
- through the form on the Contact us page of this website.
What information we collect
This website has no customer account, no online payment and no newsletter. We therefore collect only what you send us yourself, plus the technical traces that every web server keeps.
What you type into a form
The two forms on this site, on the Book an appointment page and on the Contact us page, ask for the same fields:
- Required: your name, your phone number and your email address. Without them we cannot call you back.
- Optional: your preferred shop, the make and model of your vehicle, and your message.
This website never asks for sensitive information: no social insurance number, no driver's licence number, no banking or credit card details. Please do not type them into the Message field.
If you use the online booking calendar
The Book an appointment page offers a booking calendar provided by Calendly. If you choose to display and use it, your name, email address, phone number and the time slot you pick are collected directly by Calendly, in its own systems, before reaching us. That calendar does not load until you ask for it.
Technical traces
Like every website, this one records in its logs the IP address, the browser type and the pages visited. These logs serve the operation and the security of the site, in particular to block intrusion attempts and automated form submissions. They are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
This website uses no audience measurement tool, no advertising pixel and no retargeting network. No advertising profile is built from your visit, and no automated decision about you is made on this site.
Why we collect it
Every piece of information has a specific purpose, and we do not use it for anything else:
- to call you back, answer your question and quote you a price;
- to set, confirm and prepare your appointment at the right shop;
- to match the treatment to the type and age of your vehicle, and to document the warranty;
- to keep the site secure and prevent automated submissions;
- to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
We will not send you promotional messages following a callback request: that is not why you wrote to us.
Your consent, and how to withdraw it
By filling in and sending a form, you consent to our using the information it contains in order to answer you. That consent is free: nothing obliges you to use the form, you can simply call us.
For cookies and third-party content, your consent is requested by the banner shown on your first visit. Refusing must cost you the same gesture as accepting: both buttons sit side by side, at the same size and the same visual weight. Closing the banner does not count as consent.
You can change your mind at any time, through the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal is as simple as consent, and it takes effect immediately.
To withdraw consent already given in a form, write to us or call us: we will stop using your information and delete it, except what the law requires us to keep.
Who your information is shared with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the providers that run this website for us, and only to the extent their task requires:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting of the website and its database. Servers located in Virginia, United States.
- Brevo: delivery of the emails sent by the forms. Servers located in France.
- Calendly: booking calendar, only if you display and use it. United States.
- Vimeo: hosting of the video on the home page, only if you have consented to displaying it. United States.
- CARTO, OpenStreetMap and unpkg: base maps and the map display library used on the Contact us page, only if you have consented to displaying them.
- Site defences: the site's application firewall checks IP addresses in order to block known attacks.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, in particular at the request of a public authority or a court.
The information in your request is also visible to the Lallier Antirouille employees who need it in order to serve you, and to no one else.
Disclosure outside Quebec
You should know this: several of these providers process your information outside Quebec. The website is hosted in the United States, the emails are routed through France, and both Calendly and Vimeo are American companies.
The information involved is limited to contact details and a vehicle description. We choose providers that commit contractually to protecting it and not using it for their own purposes. The laws of the host country may nevertheless allow its authorities to access it in certain circumstances.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as necessary, then we destroy or anonymise it:
- Callback request or question with no follow-up: 12 months.
- File for a vehicle actually treated: 3 years after the last treatment, in order to honour the warranty and trace the vehicle's history.
- Accounting records: the period imposed by tax law.
- Technical and security logs: 6 months.
- Consent cookie: 12 months, after which you are asked again.
Cookies and third-party content
A cookie is a small file placed by a website in your browser. This site uses very few, and none for advertising or audience measurement.
Placed by this website
- Consent cookie: remembers your answer to the banner, so it is not shown again on every page. Duration: 12 months. Necessary; it cannot be refused without making the banner unusable.
- Language cookie: remembers whether you are reading the site in French or in English. Duration: 12 months.
- Administration session cookies: placed only when an employee logs into the site's administration. They do not concern visitors.
Third-party content, blocked until you agree
Three pieces of content come from other companies and may place their own cookies or, at the very least, receive your IP address. None of them loads before you have accepted it: in its place, the site shows a box explaining what is about to load, and a button to load it.
- The Calendly calendar, on the Book an appointment page.
- The Vimeo video, on the home page. It is requested in "do not track" mode, which prevents Vimeo from attaching an advertising cookie to it.
- The maps of both shops, on the Contact us page, whose base maps come from CARTO and OpenStreetMap.
The addresses of both shops, their phone numbers and the directions links stay visible with no third-party loading at all: refusing deprives you of no information.
Your rights
Quebec law gives you the following rights over the information we hold about you:
- Access: to know what information we hold and to obtain a copy of it.
- Correction: to have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent: to ask us to stop using your information.
- Deletion and de-indexing: to have information taken down, or a hyperlink to it removed, where the law allows.
- Portability: to receive the information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format.
To exercise one of these rights, contact the person in charge of the protection of personal information, using the details above. We must verify your identity before answering, and we respond within 30 days at the latest. Access and correction are free; reasonable fees may apply to transcribing or transmitting a copy, and you will be told beforehand.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, cai.gouv.qc.ca.
Security and incidents
The site is served entirely over HTTPS, which encrypts whatever you send through a form. Access to the administration and to the database is restricted to the people who need it, and the site is protected by an application firewall.
No measure is infallible. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we would notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information promptly, and the incident would be entered in the register the law requires us to keep.
Minors
This website is addressed to vehicle owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 14 without the consent of the person having parental authority. If that has happened, write to us and we will delete the information.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy, in particular if we add a tool to the website. The last-updated date at the top of this page indicates the version in force. Should the way your information is used change significantly, we will tell you visibly on the site.
